Lovi Fruit / Loika / Lovikka

 

Lovi is sour and acidic in taste. It is usually eaten with salt.

Methods of reducing the sour.

Method 1.

Make an "X" cut in the top of a fruit, at least half way down












Insert sea salt in the middle as shown in the picture and keep it at least 4 hours (over night preferable). Now it can be consumed as it is.

Add Lovi fruits, water and salt in a pan.
Boil it until fruits start to split and color fades, then remove from the heat.
Add red chili powder, pepper powder and sugar and mix it well before eating.
